Heidelberg Choral Society: Schubertiade
Heidelberg Choral Society: Schubertiade
A concert celebrating Franz Schubert
In his short life of 31 years, Franz Peter Schubert’s music was limited to a relatively small circle of admirers in Vienna. Today, Schubert is considered one of the greatest composers in the history of Western classical music, and you can join with the Heidelberg Choral Society to hear a selection of music that is beautifully expressive, lyrical, passionate and soulful.
Under the baton of Peter Bandy, with Kathryn Pisani, piano, Heidelberg Choral Society and soloists present Miriam’s Victory Song, Mass No. 2 in G Major, Magnificat and selected songs.
Soloists are : Teresa Ingrilli ( soprano); Shakira Dugan (mezzo soprano); Timothy Reynolds (tenor) and Jeremy Kleeman (bass-baritone).
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear some of the most rhapsodic melodies and harmonies ever composed. Don’t miss the consummate genius that is Schubert.

The Waiting Room, Born in a Taxi
The Waiting Room, Born in a Taxi
Waiting Room is a site-specific, interactive, co-creation with the public. Carefully constructed by an ensemble of master improvisers, Waiting Room is an irresistible invitation to connect.
Six people, a small room, a door, a million possibilities.
What are we waiting for? Lunch, the dentist, Telstra, judgement day, the end?
Collective human behaviour under the microscope, from the mildly amusing to the disturbingly surreal . . .when there is nothing else to do.
‘Not dance, not theatre, not hilarious comedy, not performance art, and yet, somehow, cleverly all of the above. Born in a Taxi is one of Melbourne’s most entertaining yet refined physical theatre groups.’ - The Age
Winner of the Brisbane Powerhouse Performance Award.
